Commissions

  • It begins with an idea. Some place or moment you want to remember. Someone or something you love. Some inspiring song, movie, book… Or maybe just something beautiful? Something to cheer up your daily life? Lets turn your beautiful idea into reality together!

Check out some examples of previous commissions below!

  • Together we agree on the subject, size of the painting, used medias etc, based on which I will give a price and schedule estimate. I will create a draft based on these ideas, which we discuss together. This might include taking some photos of subjects and looking for reference pictures. Number of iteration rounds for the draft is 3, unless agreed otherwise. After approval of the draft, price and schedule, we have a deal, and I can start working on your piece! After accepting the final piece, I will deliver it to you, together with instructions on how to take care of the painting. In case of oil paintings, I will add the finishing varnish on top of the painting after 6 months drying time.

  • Prices depend on the technique, materials used, size of the painting and complexity of the topic. Complex topics need more space (for example portraits in size A5 are not very ideal) -I’m happy to discuss and suggest the most suitable methods for your idea!

We can agree on payment plans also, and work the other way around: if you have a budget and an idea, I can suggest best options to fit these parameters.

Portrait

I painted a portrait of this young boys sister earlier, and the family wished for a similar sized portrait of the brother to make a matching set. I took some reference photos, chose the best one of those, and matched the colors to the previous portrait. The boy is playing a mobile game, and smirking at my silly attempts to make him smile -this expression suited well for this purpose, as the sister was photographed under similar conditions :)

Family portrait

This young family wished for a family portrait. They had recently had a photo session with a photographer, and with the photographers permission, provided the link to the images. In this painting, I combined couple of the images together. The size of the painting is 50 x 62 cm, it is painted with oil colors on a canvas. The painting continues over the edges, and does thus not require frames. The effect of the beautiful autumn sun was captured with a little bit of gold paint in the hays and hairs. As the kids are really into dinosaurs, and I got some Jurassic Park vibes from the surroundings, there’s a hidden little dinosaur lurking on the background, as a bit of a “Easter egg” and to make the painting a bit more fun.

Pet portrait

Pontus here needed his very own portrait too! There were many good photos of this handsome fellow, but I wished to take these full body images to show his pose and lion-like appearance! Pet owners often have lots of good photos of their dear family members, and often some of those fit as references. Good tip is to take the photo in the level of animals eyes, and make sure the eyes are visible, as they are usually best showing the expression and nature of the furry friend!

Pontus’ mom and myself were huge Lion King fans as young girls, so I included a small hint to that direction - can you spot Zazu, the African red-billed hornbill? Maybe Pontus just can’t wait to be king!

Still life

“Can you paint me a skull painting?” I sure can! I’m very much into memento mori paintings, so this was a dreamy request for me! These paintings are often symbolistic, and as the latin name states, reminders of inevitability of death. I wanted to paint death as part of life, part of a cycle, or circle. I made a draft of the painting, which I then after acceptance painted. No further edits were requested, so I finished the painting, and delivered readily varnished! Varnishing is included in the prices, but can only be done after 6 months drying time. It sure makes the colors much more vibrant, especially in dark paintings like this one!
